Came across Rob while scouring for an engagement photographer. His photos were a breath of fresh air in an industry that seems more interested in the pose than the people. We scheduled some time at a cafe before heading to the Greenbelt for sundown. When we met, Rob got a rundown of what vibe my fiancee and I were going for; because we had a pretty wide vision, he ended up doing a little bit of everything, which made for a great gallery. Rob built a quick rapport and made us feel very comfortable for the entirety of the time we had, checking with us if we were up for experimental stuff, and finding great shots just about everywhere he looked. During our wedding, Rob took care of some really complicated logistics (we had two venues, one was on a boat) and he came up with creative spots to shoot and was excellent working with (and wrangling) our families, especially our young nieces and nephews. The photos from our wedding are really stunning. He captured the story and the emotions of the day in a way that we both feel like we can relive when looking through the photos. I was especially happy about all the details he captured because I wasn't able to concentrate on details the day of! Seriously, so many awesome photos, we are "bowled over!" My wife and I wanted to do a small simple wedding at my grandma's beautiful house. We invited less than 60 guests and only needed a photographer for 2 hours, which was hard to find. Rob offered us a 2 hour session and after one phone conversation he and my wife had our full wedding itinerary planned according to the sunset. If Rob had just showed up when we originally planned, our photos would have been too dark, but thankfully Rob convinced us to move our wedding up earlier in the afternoon and because of this, our photos look amazing. Rob.....Where to begin...Well to begin, Rob is one of the most talented technical portrait photographers I have had the pleasure of working with. His command of the camera is that kin to a sushi chef and his knife. Controlled, measured, and sometimes willing to try things that may not work but may end up with a fantastic new product. Rob uses very little post processing because of his light and spatial intelligence. His products look and have a feel of reality. With his command of lines, repetition in architectural spaces, light, and perspective he makes both his subjects and space relate and brings out the beauty of both.
Yes his pictures are good, but his client relations are equal. At our wedding he really engaged with the entire party. Either in individual shots or candids he manages to make people feel comfortable and forget they are having their photos taken. What could be an anxiety ridden uncomfortable situation, Rob peppers it with jokes and comments that get you to relax and smile even when you are trying not to.
Overall, worth every penny. To this day there is not a week that goes by without us pouring over our photos. He immortally made us look great on the one day we wanted to. Thank you Rob. We will and look forward to working with you in the future.
